Commonly named the ‘Elephant Bush’, this shrubby succulent comes with fleshy stems, branches and leaves. It's a well-branched cactus that is usually grown as a houseplant, and is popular as a specimen for bonsai. It is commonly eaten, usually as one component of a salad or a soup, in Southern Africa. It's extremely suitable for miniature gardens.

This plant is like a small tree. The small leaves are pale silvery-green with cream margins, sitting on dark red stems. Very small, pale pink flowers may be produced in clusters at the ends of stems in summer. It also bears inconspicuous flowers in small clusters.
