Also known as ‘cockscomb’ due to its flower resembling the head of a rooster, this plant lends a burst of colour to any room. Easy to grow and heat-loving, it is moderately drought tolerant. Its leaves and flowers can also be used as vegetables. It’s rich in Vitamin C.

Germination Instructions
- Sow the seeds directly into soil placed in pots, planters or growbags.
- Ensure that the planters/pots/growbags used are at least 6 inches deep.
- Germination starts in 6-14 days.
- Make sure the spacing between seeds is 10-18 inches.
Maintenance Instructions
- The bloom time is 4 months.
- Apply a layer of organic mulch, such as grass clippings or dried leaves, around plants to help retain moisture and reduce weed growth.
- Nitrogen is an essential element for cockscomb, so feed plants about every four weeks.
